MetMalaysia lifts yellow warning alert in 6 states

KUALA LUMPUR – The Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has lifted the yellow warning alert  for six states, following the forecast of improving weather conditions.

MetMalaysia director-general Jailan Simon said the move involves eight areas in Kedah – Langkawi, Kubang Pasu, Kota Setar, Pokok Sena, Padang Terap, Pendang, Sik and Baling – as well as Hulu Perak, Kuala Kangsar and Kinta in Perak.

He said the yellow warning alert for all of Perlis, Kelantan and Terengganu, as well as Kuantan, Pahang, has also ended.

"Weather conditions in Perlis, Kedah, Perak, Kelantan, Terengganu and Pahang are expected to improve. Therefore, the weather warning was updated yesterday, with the yellow warning alert in the affected areas lifted,” he said in a statement.

He said the public can get latest updates on the weather at the official MetMalaysia website, myCuaca mobile app or contact hotline number 1-300-22-1638. – Bernama, November 28, 2020
