KUALA LUMPUR – Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has resumed his tasks as per normal after receiving a clean bill of health from doctors.

In a Twitter post today, Anwar said that he had undergone a health check-up at the National Heart Institute (IJN) earlier this morning.

“After the examination and the doctor confirming that my health is in good shape, I immediately resumed my duties with my staff,” he said.

He also shared a photo of him in his office with several aides, including his political secretary Datuk Seri Shamsul Iskandar Mohd Akin as well as senior economic and finance adviser Nurul Izzah Anwar.

In the post’s comments section, many users wished the prime minister well while urging him to take some rest days for the sake of his health.

Human Resources Minister V. Sivakumar said earlier today that Anwar could not attend the national-level Thaipusam celebration at Batu Caves this morning due to health concerns.

An aide to Anwar then confirmed to The Vibes that the prime minister had sought medical treatment this morning, and that his condition did not involve anything serious. – The Vibes, February 5, 2023
