Water supply fully restored in 4 districts: Air Selangor

KUALA LUMPUR – Water supply was fully restored by noon today in four districts in the Klang Valley – Petaling, Kuala Lumpur, Hulu Selangor and Kuala Selangor – that faced a disruption since early yesterday.

Pengurusan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd corporate communications head Elina Baseri said supply has been restored to most places in three other affected districts, namely Kuala Langat (80%), Klang/Shah Alam (74.9%) and Gombak (70%).

“As at noon today, water supply was stable in 731 of the 861 affected areas. Air Selangor is striving to stabilise the distribution of supply in the remaining 130 areas.”

She said public taps and local service centres are providing water to those still affected.

Supply was disrupted yesterday after pollution was detected in Sg Selangor, triggering the shutdown of the Rantau Panjang, and Sg Selangor Phases 1, 2 and 3 water treatment plants. – Bernama, December 9, 2020
