KUALA LUMPUR – Human Resources Minister Datuk Seri M. Saravanan is another minister stuck in self-quarantine after coming in direct contact with an individual who tested positive for Covid-19.
It is learnt that the Tapah MP is observing the order after coming into close contact with Human Resources Development Fund (HRDF) chief executive officer Datuk Shahul Hameed Dawood recently.
HRDF has, in a statement, since confirmed that its headquarters here will be closed for a week from today following the development.
While the government agency did not confirm Shahul as the affected employee, it said its employee is currently receiving treatment under close monitoring by medical personnel.
“Additionally, all HRDF employees are undergoing swab tests as part of our precautionary measures and their health conditions will continue to be monitored.
“At HRDF, the health and well-being of our employees and customers are our utmost priority.
“We will continue to observe stringent adherence to infection control policies and processes, and fully comply with preventive measures set by the Health Ministry.”
Yesterday, Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Adham Baba was instructed to observe the home surveillance order until December 18 after being in close contact with a Covid-19 patient.
Dr Adham, who was absent during his ministry’s budget debate in Parliament on Wednesday, had come into contact with a reporter last Saturday.
