JOHOR BARU – The National Flood Forecasting and Warning Centre has today issued a preparedness notice for possible flash floods within 12 hours in three districts in Johor.

According to the notice issued at 5pm, flash floods are expected if significant rain continues in several locations in the Kluang, Kota Tinggi, and Pontian districts.

The at-risk areas in Kluang district are the mukims Ulu Benut, Kahang, and the surrounding areas, while in Kota Tinggi the areas are the mukims Johor Lama, Ulu Sg Johor, and Sedili Besar.

The areas in Pontian district are the mukims Ayer Masin, Rimba Terjun, Pontian, Api-Api, Ayer Baloi, Sg Pinggan, Benut, and the surrounding areas.

The notice also advised the public to obey the instructions of the authorities or flood disaster management agencies and that further information and updates can be obtained from the website https://publicinfobanjir.water.gov.my or the Facebook page @PublicInfoBanjir and Twitter page @JPS_InfoBanjir. – Bernama, June 14, 2023
