Man nabbed on suspicion of stabbing 1-year-old daughter

KUALA LUMPUR – A man has been detained on suspicion of stabbing his 1-year-old daughter at a flat in Puchong Permai yesterday.

Subang Jaya district police chief Abd Khalid Othman, in a statement, said the arrest was made after a motorcycle patrol unit from the Bukit Puchong station received a complaint from the public about 4.30pm.

He said the 27-year-old suspect was arrested at the flat, and police seized a bread knife believed to have been used to stab the infant in the abdomen.

“The baby was rushed to Serdang Hospital. She is reported to be in stable condition.

“Police have recorded witness statements.”

He said initial investigations showed that the incident occurred after the suspect “lost his temper”, and that a urine test has been conducted to determine whether he was under the influence of drugs. – Bernama, December 13, 2020
