KUALA LUMPUR – “I never imagined I would ever find her and the kids in such a state,” said the ex-boyfriend of a woman who was found dead in an apartment along with her two children recently.

Reports in Sinar Harian said the man, identified only as “Alex”, recounted the woman’s ordeal as a single mother who tenaciously raised the teens on her own.

“We separated about two years ago…still lived in the same apartment but in different rooms.

“The last time I saw her was on Monday night as I went to the toilet. I didn’t think it would be the last time I saw her,” he said.

It was reported that police had received a call regarding the deaths at 7.31am on Thursday.

Police later found three bodies in a room in an apartment unit in Kg Baru Ampang.

The bodies were those of a 42-year-old woman and her two fully clothed children, a 14-year-old boy and a 15-year-old girl, along with an envelope with a will and some cash.

Selangor police chief Datuk Hussein Omar Khan said that the victims had been dead for over 24 hours.

He added that the case had been classified as a sudden death case.

Alex said on Tuesday morning, he had heard the sounds of tape being used but did not think much of it, as he thought the woman was packing something.

“She was doing some business before this, so I thought she was packing something.

“However, on Thursday, I felt something was wrong.

“Her room light was on for three days and I did not notice anyone going in or out of the room,” he said.

He said he had also received word from a friend that the woman did not turn up for work.

“I then broke the room door and was shocked to see three lifeless bodies there.

“What I saw was beyond words...I was overcome with shock and grief,” he said.

Alex said he could not come to terms with what had happened to his ex-girlfriend and her two children.

“I am so sad that she did not speak to me about what she was going through.

“Though I was no longer in a relationship with her, I could have done something to help.” – The Vibes, September 9, 2023
