RIYADH – Foreign pilgrims and visitors to Saudi Arabia are now required to have insurance coverage for Covid-19 infection.
The Saudi Press Agency reported that the matter was announced by the central bank and Cooperative Health Insurance Council yesterday.
The requirement is aimed at providing healthcare to insured individuals in the case of exposure to the coronavirus during their stay in the kingdom, and allowing patients speedy access to medical services.
It will also provide coverage for costs in relation to case detection, quarantine for those found to have contracted the virus, and medical evacuation in emergency cases. – Bernama, May 3, 2021
