SARAWAK premier Tan Sri Abang Johari Openg and Sabah Pakatan Harapan chairman Datuk Christina Liew lead the list of 1,376 state award recipients in conjunction with the 71st birthday of the Sabah Yang di-Pertua Tun Juhar Mahiruddin on October 7.
Abang Jo and Liew are among four recipients of the Seri Panglima Darjah Kinabalu, Sabah highest honour which carries the title Datuk Seri Panglima.
The other two are businessman Datuk Kumar Prabarakan and Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Razarudin Husain.
A total of 87 individuals were conferred the Panglima Gemilang Darjah Kinabalu, which carried the title Datuk.
Among them include PAS nominated assemblyman Datuk Aliakbar Gulasan, Borneo Post chief editor Datuk Chiu Nai Wen, former Sabah muzeum director Datuk Joanna Kitingan, PKR Inanam Assemblyman Datuk Peto Galim, journalist Datuk Phillip Golingai and DAP Likas Assemblyman Datuk Tan Lee Fat.
10 people were named as the recipients of the Justice of Peace including Sabah deputy chief minister II Datuk Seri Dr Joachim Gunsalam and Universiti Malaysia Sabah Vice chancellor Datuk Kasim Mansor.
116 individuals received the Ahli Setia Darjah Kinabalu (ASDK), while 274 received the Ahli Darjah Kinabalu (ADK) and 320 received the Bintang Setia Kinabalu (BSK).
A total of 421 individuals received the Bintang Kinabalu (BK), and another 144 received the Pingat Perkhidmatan Terpuji (PPT). - October 4, 2024
