THE male secondary school student suspected of stabbing his senior schoolmate to death was brought to court about 9am this morning to apply for a remand order.

Police brought the suspect to the PJ Court Complex as the probe into yesterday's murder at the school in Bandar Utama continues.

He was then remanded for seven days till next Tuesday for investigations under Section 302 of the Penal Code.

Yesterday, it was reported that a 16-year-old female student was stabbed to death at her school in Bandar Utama at around 9.30am.

Initial examination found that the victim had suffered several stab wounds to her body.

Following the incident, a 14-year-old suspect was arrested.

Police also seized two sharp weapons believed to have been used in the murder.

Family claims victim's body

Meanwhile, the body of the 16-year-old victim was claimed by the victim's family at 7.30am today at the Forensic Pathology Unit, University Malaya Medical Centre (PPUM).

It is understood that the process was carried out after the post-mortem process was completed early this morning.

Earlier, Petaling Jaya District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Shamsudin Mamat, confirmed that there was no element of bullying in the incident and that the case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.

The victim was confirmed dead at the scene of the incident due to several stab wounds to the body, while two sharp weapons believed to have been used were also seized by the police to assist in the investigation. - October 15, 2025
