THE Kuala Lumpur Police Deputy Chief Datuk Mohd Azani Omar, has stressed the importance of eradicating bullying and building a safe and respectful school environment during a community engagement programme at Sekolah Menengah Sains Alam Shah (ASiS) yesterday.
Speaking at the ‘Ramah Mesra’ Programme with students and teachers, Mohd Azani said the initiative is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen cooperation between the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) and educational institutions through the School Liaison Officer (PPS) system.
He said the officers play a vital role as intermediaries in guiding students who may be at risk of engaging in social misconduct.
“Emphasis on self-discipline, identity and mutual respect is the foundation of future success,” he said.
The programme, he added, aims to raise awareness among students and teachers about the dangers and consequences of bullying while promoting a safer, more conducive learning atmosphere in schools.
The event began with congregational Isyak prayers and a prayer recitation, followed by the symbolic presentation of ‘Glow in the Dark – Stop Bullying Wristbands’ to student representatives, reflecting PDRM’s commitment to the anti-bullying campaign.
Also present were the Director of Education for the Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur, Megat Affandi Datuk Ismail, educators from the Federal Territory, and teaching staff from ASiS. - November 4, 2025
