Man who beat wife, causing a miscarriage was wanted by police in 2021

THE man suspected of beating his wife, who is also a civil servant, to the point of suffering a miscarriage last Thursday, was previously wanted by the Johor Bahru South District Police Headquarters (IPD) in 2021.

In a media statement on May 18, 2021, the Johor Bahru IPD Criminal Investigation Division stated that it was tracking a witness to assist in an investigation under Section 325 of the Penal Code.

The details of the witness involved at the time were that he was 38 years old and worked as a trader, and his last known address was Perumahan Polis, Taman Derga Jaya, Alor Setar.

He was believed to have been tracked by the police to be a witness to an incident that caused serious injuries that occurred in 2021 involving a woman.

Based on information from the family of the woman who was beaten by her husband last Thursday, the man was the same individual involved in the case being investigated by the Johor Bahru South IPD.

Additionally, based on information from the couple's MyKad documents and marriage certificate, as seen by family members, it was confirmed that the man involved was the same person.

In the latest incident, the victim, who is 39 years old and works as a nurse, suffered fractures in several parts of her body as a result of being beaten by the man. – April 27, 2026
