A BANGLADESHI man believed to be involved in five molestation incidents involving women at several MRT and LRT stations around the capital since April has been arrested and charged

Kuala Lumpur Police Chief Datuk Fadil Marsus said the 41-year-old suspect was arrested on April 27 at about 11.45 am in the Maluri MRT Station compound.

According to him, the investigation found that the suspect was believed to have been involved in five such incidents involving female victims aged between 21 and 28.

"The offences were believed to have been committed at Chan Sow Lin LRT Station, Maluri Cheras MRT and Taman Midah MRT.

"The suspect was charged at the Kuala Lumpur Court on Tuesday," he said in a statement today.

Fadil said the suspect faces five charges under Section 354 of the Penal Code for indecent assault.

He said that if convicted, the suspect could be sentenced to up to 10 years in prison, a fine, whipping or any two of these punishments. – May 6, 2026
