KOTA KINABALU – A state of emergency is not an option for Malaysia, said Sabah former chief minister and Semporna MP Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal.

“The collapsing domestic and global economy is the real enemy as it affects the livelihood of every Malaysian,” he said in a statement today.

“I plead with all leaders of our beloved country to put aside our differences and work as one to overcome the greatest challenge that we are facing, and to put King, country and the people first before all others.”

He said calling for an emergency is not the option, but unity is the solution during these trying times.

He added that this is the time to put aside differences, including religion and race, to join forces to fight the real enemy.

“We may not agree on many things most of the time, but at this moment, I think we can agree on one thing – we love our country.

“May Allah give us  the wisdom and guidance to choose the right path for the benefit of the country.” – The Vibes, October 25, 2020
