KUALA LUMPUR – Datuk Seri Shahidan Kassim, Datuk Seri Azalina Othman Said and Datuk Seri Tajuddin Abdul Rahman are among the Supreme Council members who have arrived at Putra World Trade Centre here for a meeting of the Umno top leadership tonight.

Also spotted were Energy and Natural Resources Minister Datuk Shamsul Anuar Nasarah, Deputy Rural Development Minister Datuk Seri Abdul Rahman Mohamad and Deputy Communications and Multimedia Minister Datuk Zahidi Zainul Abidin.

The meeting, to be chaired by party president Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, follows one held this afternoon among Barisan Nasional MPs to clear the air over matters arising from Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin’s failed bid to declare an emergency over Covid-19.

The Yang di-Pertuan Agong yesterday said he sees no need for emergency rule at this time, whether for the whole or parts of Malaysia.

He stressed that Budget 2021, to be tabled at the next parliamentary sitting, is of utmost importance in the fight against the coronavirus and efforts to resuscitate the economy. – The Vibes, October 26, 2020
