KUALA LUMPUR – The Royal Malaysia Police has lost a valuable member of its team after the death of a K9 labrador named Bad, who had served the nation for 11 years.

In a tribute post on Facebook, the Pahang Criminal Investigation Department (CID) said the 13-year-old dog took his last breath yesterday evening and was laid to rest next to Tho, another K9 member who died last year.

During his years of service, Bad played a crucial role in the taking down of two drug syndicates in 2012 and 2014.

“Bad’s services and devotion will remain as a contribution to our beloved country,” it said, noting that the dog was under the supervision of Willen Slamping @ Sirampin.

It added that state CID chief Mohd Yusri Othman expressed his intentions to set up a K9 Memorial Park by upgrading the resting place of Bad and Tho.
