PUTRAJAYA – Umno Supreme Council member Datuk Khaidhirah Abu Zahar is a suitable candidate for the Malaysian Film and Music Industry Advisory Council chairman’s post, said Deputy Communications and Multimedia Minister Datuk Zahidi Zainul Abidin.

He said Khaidhirah, who is Deputy Speaker of the Melaka State Legislative Assembly, was well-qualified and experienced for the job.

“What’s the problem with appointing a politician? Most of the advisors for GLCs (government-linked companies), we appoint government retirees, political retirees and even politicians...because they are qualified,” he said at the ministry’s programme here today.

On September 17, Communications and Multimedia Minister Tan Sri Annuar Musa announced the establishment of the Malaysian Film and Music Advisory Council to formulate more proactive forward policies to assist industry players. – Bernama, September 20, 2022
