MIRI – Lawas Airport in northernmost Sarawak has been closed due to floods, and all flights have been cancelled.

The Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department confirmed the airport’s shutdown until further notice.

It said the runway at this border airport, which serves the interior destinations of Bario and Ba’Kelalan, has been flooded due to heavy rain.
