KEPALA BATAS – Tenaga Nasional Bhd (TNB) has confirmed that parts of the parliamentary constituency here are suffering from power outages after a cable was damaged by an election billboard.

A TNB spokesman confirmed that the incident took place between noon and 3pm today, resulting in electricity supply disruption in parts of the township here.

“We are experiencing intermittent power disruption. It will take up to three hours to restore electricity supply. It is unfortunate and we hope our consumers can be patient.”

Earlier, netizens took to social media to complain about the outage.

One user channelled his grouses toward Barisan Nasional’s (BN) incumbent Kepala Batas MP Datuk Seri Reezal Merican Naina Merican, claiming that it was BN election workers who had damaged the TNB cable.

“This issue should be forwarded to the local authorities for action.”

Attempts have been made to contact Reezal’s operations centre here. – The Vibes, November 9, 2022
