KUALA LUMPUR – DAP has shown its true colours in its opposition towards Islam after acknowledging PAS’ “green tide” success in the recent general election, said Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang.

On Facebook, the PAS president said this clearly indicated the existence of a movement that thwarted Perikatan Nasional (PN) and PAS from forming the federal government with the involvement of “hidden hands”.

“They have torn off their own masks to reveal their own true faces so that we have greater conviction towards the Islamic cause and to distinguish between friend and foe,” Hadi said.

“Exposing themselves, their slogans against corruption, robbers, thieves, and all wrongdoings are mere pretence.”

Hadi noted that this clearly occurred when all those that DAP condemned were “shamelessly” invited to collaborate to secure the numbers to form a simple majority.

The Marang MP also said the so-called movement was willing to compromise on its principles to emerge victorious and through the support of those who were “blinded” and hostile towards Islam.

He also noted that the number of seats won in non-Muslim majority areas became the decisive factor in the election, despite the division among Muslims and their ignorance towards politics.

On Sunday, veteran DAP leader Lim Kit Siang said the upcoming state elections will prove whether PN is still riding a “green tide” following the formation of a unity government that includes rivals Pakatan Harapan (PH) and Barisan Nasional (BN).

Lim said the state elections in Penang, Selangor, Negri Sembilan, Kelantan, Terengganu, and Kedah next year will show whether PN’s inroads in federal seats in the recently concluded general election were a fluke.

He said this was because election results in some seats show that the combined votes of PH and BN candidates had exceeded the votes obtained by the PN candidates. – The Vibes, December 13, 2022
