IPOH – Police today arrested a man suspected of murdering a man found dead in front of his house in Taman Klebang Putra, Chemor yesterday.
Perak police chief Datuk Seri Mohd Yusri Hassan Basri said the suspect, a local man aged 27, was arrested in Chemor and that investigation papers have been opened under Section 302 of the Penal Code.
“Police have apprehended the suspect believed to be involved in the murder of a 37-year-old man and are tracking his other accomplices.
“The suspect will be taken to the Ipoh magistrates’ court tomorrow for a remand application,” he said in a statement today.
The murder victim had died at the scene of the crime at 11.28pm yesterday and preliminary checks revealed there were injuries to his body, with police not denying the possibility that he was a victim of an accident.
But an autopsy by the Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital forensics department confirmed the cause of death to be multiple blunt-force trauma and the case was classified as a murder.
Yusri said with the suspect’s arrest, police believe that they have solved the murder. – Bernama, December 31, 2022
