KUALA LUMPUR – The Damansara-Shah Alam Elevated Expressway (DASH) concessionaire has started the “blackening” process of its roads since last night following the recent accident involving two vehicles that occurred on the New Klang Valley Expressway.
Works Minister Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi said the accident was believed to have been caused by confusion over the overlapping yellow and white lane markings.
“I have ordered a detailed investigation (into the incident) and based on the initial report received from the Malaysian Highway Authority (LLM) and DASH, the areas that need to be improved through the ‘blackening’ process have already been identified by DASH even before Chinese New Year.
“DASH has also started the ‘blackening’ process last night and it’s expected to be completed within three nights,” he said in a Facebook post today.
He said the LLM, North-South Expressway and DASH would also reassess the situation at the incident location, especially the yellow and white lane markings, so that they are clearer and safer for road users.
“This needs to be given serious attention as it involves the safety and lives of road users.
“At the same time, I hope road users will continue to be mindful when driving. Road safety is everyone’s responsibility,” he said.
