JOHOR BARU – The flood situation in Batu Pahat has continued to improve as the number of evacuees in the district dropped to 2,540 at 8am today from 3,086 at 8pm last night.

The Johor Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) in a statement today said 701 families are still taking shelter at 20 relief centres.

“The three relief centres with the most evacuees are SK Seri Medan with 320 victims, followed by Sekolah Agama Seri Medan (314), and SK Seri Aman (257),” it said.

The SDMC said 5,269 personnel from various agencies were involved in post-flood missions in several locations in Batu Pahat.

Bright weather is forecast for all 10 districts in Johor this morning and the water levels of all rivers are below the danger mark. – Bernama, March 22, 2023
