KUALA TERENGGANU – The Muda candidate for the Bandar state seat here, Luqman Long, said he would give up his position as the party’s information chief if he loses the seat and his deposit in the state election.

Luqman, a first-time candidate, stressed that his bid was not aimed at splitting votes, but winning the seat.

“My promise is that if I lose the seat and my deposit which I paid as a candidate, I will resign from my party position.

“This is a challenge and also my commitment... I will still be loyal to the party, with or without any position,” he said.

Though he did not have any position, he said he would continue to serve the party and he urged all members to use every opportunity possible to be of service to the party and the people.

Luqman faces a three-cornered fight with incumbent Ahmad Shah Muhamed from Perikatan Nasional and Armi Irzan Mohd from Barisan Nasional. – The Vibes, July 31, 2023
