PETALING JAYA – Police have called up 20 individuals involved in yesterday’s Save Malaysia rally to have their statements recorded.

Datuk Tun Faisal Ismail Aziz said he was among the 20 called to be present at the Dang Wangi police headquarters at 10am tomorrow.

Tun Faisal, who is part of the rally’s organising committee, said those who had spoken during the rally were called up.

This follows the gathering yesterday in Kuala Lumpur led by Save Malaysia secretariat members Tun Faisal and Badrul Hisham Shaharin @ Chegu Bard.

The rally was called to protest the attorney-general’s decision to apply for a discharge not amounting to an acquittal for 47 corruption charges faced by Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.

Yesterday, after the rally ended at about 4pm, Kuala Lumpur police chief Datuk Allaudeen Abdul Majid said it had failed to comply with regulations under the Peaceful Assembly Act 2012. – The Vibes, September 17, 2023
