KUALA LUMPUR – The Transport Ministry today said passengers affected by the catering issues on Malaysia Airlines flights should be given extra services.

These said its minister, Anthony Loke, could be in the form of additional flying points.

He said this in response to Beluran member of Parliament Ronald Kiandee, who suggested that Malaysia Airlines consider reducing its airfares to counter the current situation.

“We have since suggested to the national carrier to consider providing extra services to those affected,” said Loke, adding that the government will not interfere in ticket pricing as this was a business decision.

To him, he said customer satisfaction was his top concern and urged the airlines to take all criticisms positively.

In a statement recently, Malaysia Airlines announced the reinstatement of hot meal services on board its domestic and international routes affected by the recent catering transition, with the arrival of 10 new high-lift trucks ahead of schedule.

Malaysia Airlines said it anticipates the arrival of another 10 high-lifts in the coming months, while proactively enhancing and fine-tuning its pre-packaged meal components during the interim period. – The Vibes, September 19, 2023
