PETALING JAYA - Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd (MAHB) today said about 10,000 passengers have been affected following the suspension of MYAirline’s operations,

Also affected are 39 flights serving local destinations, as well as one international route to Don Mueang Airport in Bangkok, Thailand.

MAHB in a statement said it would assist affected customers while providing rest areas for stranded passengers at  Level 3 Terminal 2 and Level 5 Anjung Tinjau Terminal 1.

"This is to ensure passengers can wait for the next flights comfortably. As for passengers who are not at the airport yet, please explore alternative flights from other carriers.

"MAHB remains committed to minimising the inconvenience experienced by affected passengers and ensuring that all passengers experience a seamless journey at our airports," read the statement.

Earlier today, MYAirline announced that it is suspending all of its operations with immediate effect due to financial pressures.

The Malaysian Aviation Commission (Mavcom) has since said MYAirline is responsible for reimbursing all customers who have booked flights but can no longer travel after the airline suspended its operations.

Mavcom has asked MYAirline to manage all affected customers which includes notifying them of the suspension and publishing the said notification in the airline’s available communication channels. - The Vibes, October 12, 2023
