A POLICE sergeant has won praise and admiration from animal lovers and netizens for going out of his way to rescue a puppy which had fallen into a drain.

Mohd Fazre Sulaiman from the Maran  Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department in Pahang was recently captured lifting the puppy from a drain believed to be near the police station.

"The assistance from Mohd Fazre shows the police are not only focused on the safety of the people but also towards animals," read a caption accompanying the photographs.

The photographs of the incident were uploaded on the PDRM official Facebook.

In the photographs, Mohd Fazre, in full uniform, is first seen trying to lift the puppy out with one leg in the drain.

Unable to get a grip on the animal, he is then seen getting into the drain and lifting the puppy out before setting it free on the grass.

Netizens have praised Mohd Fazre for his actions with one netizen saying, "You are a gem! Thank you sarjan".

"A great job by the cop. It is hoped this will inspire others to do likewise," commented another netizen. - The Vibes, February 12, 2024
