A ONE-YEAR seven-month-old boy died, suspected to have been bitten by a wild animal, in an incident at Kampung Orang Asli Sungai Buloh, yesterday.
Sungai Buloh District Police Chief, Superintendent Mohd Hafiz Muhammad Nor said his department received a report on the incident at 8.40am.
“The doctor on duty provided CPR, but there was no response, and the child was confirmed dead at 9.14am.
“Further examination of the victim’s body found that there were scratches and wounds on the head and body. The victim was taken to hospital by his parents,” he said as reported by Kosmo!
According to him, the victim’s 31-year-old father also lodged a police report and informed that the incident occurred when he and his wife returned from work at 8.15am.
“Upon arriving home, they found the door of the house open and the victim was not in the house. After searching the area, they found the victim about 20 metres from the house unconscious and surrounded by several dogs.
“The victim is believed to have been living with his uncle at the time of the incident who only realised he was missing after hearing the screams of the victim’s parents,” he said.
The victim’s body has been sent to the Sungai Buloh Hospital Forensic Unit for a post-mortem.
The case is currently being investigated under Section 31(1)(a) of the Children’s Act 2001. - July 23, 2025
