A TWO-year-old nine-month-old girl died after being crushed by a concrete gate post that collapsed at her family's rented house Taman Bukti Kristal in Seremban on Friday.

The victim was confirmed dead at 9.14pm while at the emergency zone of the Tuanku Jaafar Hospital (HTJ).

Seremban District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Mohamad Hatta Che Din, said they received information that the incident occurred at 7.15pm.

"The victim was said to be playing with her sister before the unstable gate post collapsed and crushed the victim.

"The victim's mother immediately took the victim to HTJ, but she was confirmed dead at 9.14pm," he said.

According to him, a post-mortem conducted at the Rembau Hospital found that the cause of death was head trauma due to a heavy object and no other injuries were detected.

He also advised the public to ensure that the structures in their homes are installed safely to prevent similar incidents from recurring.

"The case is classified as sudden death," he said. – October 5, 2025
