FOUR individuals, including two teenagers and two elderly suspects, have been remanded to assist in the investigation into the killing of a female college student whose body was discovered with 61 stab wounds in Ketereh, Kelantan.

Two teenage boys were remanded for seven days, while a 60-year-old woman and a 66-year-old man were remanded for three days.

The remand order was issued by Magistrate Amirul Asyraf Abdul Rasid at the Kota Bharu Court Complex, where all suspects arrived at approximately 8.40am.

The case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code, which carries the death penalty or imprisonment ranging from 30 to 40 years, along with whipping upon conviction.

Kelantan Police Chief Mohd Yusoff Mamat confirmed that the suspects, aged between 19 and 66, were arrested during coordinated raids conducted between 4pm yesterday and early this morning.

The arrests took place at two separate locations, namely Taman Murni and Kampung Belukar Luas in Ketereh.

Police also seized a knife believed to be linked to the case. Initial checks revealed that all suspects have no prior criminal records and tested negative for drugs.

The victim’s body was earlier discovered by the roadside in Kampung Simah, Ketereh. She was found without identification documents, but authorities later confirmed her identity through fingerprint verification with the National Registration Department.

Investigators believe the victim may have been killed at a different location before her body was dumped at the site where it was found.

A post-mortem examination determined that the cause of death was multiple stab wounds to the chest.

The case has drawn widespread attention due to the brutality of the brutal murder, with police continuing their investigation to establish the motive and circumstances surrounding the incident. May 2, 2026
