BARISAN Nasional (BN) has won the Chennah state seat, according to unofficial results, defeating DAP secretary-general Anthony Loke Siew Fook in one of the most closely watched contests in the Negeri Sembilan election. 

The victory sees BN’s MCA candidate Siow Kong Choon end Loke’s 13-year hold on the constituency, which the DAP leader had represented since 2013. 

Chennah was considered a key test for DAP, with Loke seeking a fourth consecutive term in the seat. In the previous state election, Loke retained the constituency with a 2,200-vote majority.
