BARISAN Nasional (BN) has won the Chennah state seat, according to unofficial results, defeating DAP secretary-general Anthony Loke Siew Fook in one of the most closely watched contests in the Negeri Sembilan election.
The victory sees BN’s MCA candidate Siow Kong Choon end Loke’s 13-year hold on the constituency, which the DAP leader had represented since 2013.
Chennah was considered a key test for DAP, with Loke seeking a fourth consecutive term in the seat. In the previous state election, Loke retained the constituency with a 2,200-vote majority.
The result marks a major setback for PH, with Chennah long viewed as one of DAP’s safer seats in Negeri Sembilan. - August 1, 2026
