JOHOR BARU – Rumours of ties between Muda and Pejuang have been debunked after the latter’s announcement of candidates in the upcoming Johor polls.

Pejuang will field candidates in all constituencies that Muda is eyeing – Puteri Wangsa, Machap, Tenang, Larkin, Bukit Kepong, Bukit Permai and Parit Raja.

In Machap, Pejuang will field what is speculated to be its menteri besar hopeful and its Johor chief Datuk Shahruddin Md Salleh.

Machap was previously won by Umno’s Abd Taib Abu Bakar with 39% of the votes.

On March 12, Shahruddin will face Umno’s Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi and Muda’s Sangaran Rawisandiran in Machap.

Meanwhile, Pejuang will look to hinder other parties’ potential menteri besar candidates, including PKR’s Maszlee Malik in Layang-Layang as well as Johor opposition leader and Amanah’s Aminolhuda Hasan in Parit Yaani.

Additionally, the party will challenge Barisan Nasional’s potential menteri besar candidate Datuk Hasni Mohammad in Benut, fielding Iskandar Noor Ibrahim for the challenge.

Other constituencies to watch would include Simpang Jeram, as Pejuang intends to challenge incumbent and Amanah deputy chief Datuk Seri Salahuddin Ayub with their candidate Mahaizal Mahmor.
