KUALA LUMPUR – The Federal Territories Foundation’s (YWP) statement that it was considering taking legal action against Public Account Committee (PAC) chairman Wong Kah Woh was uncalled for, said Wong today.

YWP’s threat comes following the PAC report on the sales of land belonging to the Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL), tabled in Parliament yesterday.

“The PAC regards the statement as uncalled for and an attempt to challenge and violate the integrity of the parliamentary institution.

“All accusations against the report are totally baseless. PAC has conducted investigations over all issues without prejudice to any party,” he said at Parliament today.

Wong said PAC warned all against questioning its work or threatening legal action against its chairman or members in carrying out their duties.

“Any accusation or threat against PAC or its committee members over issues being investigated or reports tabled clearly interfere with the jurisdiction of Parliament as a legislative branch under the federal constitution.

‘’PAC will not bow to accusations or threats from any quarter in carrying out its duties as enshrined under the law of the country,’’ he added. – Bernama, November 19, 2020
