KUALA LUMPUR – PAS leader Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor has sparked strong criticism for an alleged breach of election law, when he flashed his ballot paper to media personnel as he cast his vote today.
The incident roused the ire of social media users, who shared pictures of the caretaker Kedah menteri besar making a display of the voting process before inserting his ballot.
He has purportedly violated Article 39 of the Election Offences Act 1954, which states that no voter in any election shall be required to disclose whom they voted for.
The offence is punishable with imprisonment for up to 12 months and a fine of up to RM3,000. – The Vibes, August 12, 2023
