TODAY'S Dewan Rakyat’s session will focus on key issues including the achievements of the Independent Police Complaints and Misconduct Commission (IPCC) and Malaysia's strategic initiatives during its chairmanship of ASEAN.
According to the Parliamentary Order of Business, Khoo Poay Tiong (PH-Kota Melaka) has asked the Home Minister to provide an update on the IPCC’s accomplishments since its establishment, and to explain the role of the IPCC's Police, Friends, and Collaborators (IPFC) initiative during the oral question session.
Meanwhile, Datuk Seri Dr. Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar (PN-Kemaman) has requested the Foreign Minister to outline Malaysia's strategic steps as ASEAN chair in 2025, focusing on the three main goals: strengthening regional value chains, enhancing member states' foundations, and restructuring the ASEAN economic landscape.
Additionally, Cha Kee Chin (PH-Rasah) will inquire about the amount spent on the Cooking Oil Price Stabilization Scheme (ECOSS) in 2024, and whether the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living plans to increase the subsidized cooking oil quota due to frequent complaints about supply shortages.
The session will continue with the debate on the Royal Address motion, with Parliament scheduled to meet for 18 days until March 6. – February 17, 2025
