POLICE have confirmed the arrest of three men believed to be involved in an incident that caused head injuries to Dang Wangi District Police Chief Assistant Commissioner Sulizmie Affendy Sulaiman during a building clearance operation in Kampung Sungai Baru, today.

Inspector-General of Police Datuk Seri Mohd Khalid Ismail said the trio were arrested to assist investigations into the incident.

According to him, Sulizmie Affendy, who is receiving treatment at the Kuala Lumpur Hospital (HKL), is reported to be doing fine.

"He (Sulizmie Affendy) suffered injuries during the operation. I believe he has since received proper treatment," he said after the closing ceremony of the 6th Edition of the National Forensic Science Symposium for Law Enforcement (NAFSLE) 2025 at the Royal Malaysian Police College (PDRM), today.

Mohd Khalid said that the police's actions were in accordance with the law and he believed that there was  dissatisfaction among certain parties that led to the riots.

"We were enforcing the law as the court had issued an order, compensation has also been paid. There may be a few things that did not satisfy certain parties (and caused the riots).

"Do not act blindly and ensure that the information received is from authentic sources," he said. – September 11, 2025
