THE six-year-old boy who was found with serious injuries to his neck, believed to have been caused by a sharp object at a house in Parit Raja, Batu Pahat, is reported to be stable.

The victim is still receiving treatment at the Sultanah Nora Ismail Hospital (HSNI), after undergoing surgery for his injuries yesterday.

Batu Pahat District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Shahrulanuar Mushaddat Abdullah Sani, said the victim is also able to speak but requires intensive treatment.

"So far, the police have not recorded a statement from the victim and will do so once he has fully recovered. At the same time, we are still investigating the exact cause of this incident.

"The police are completing the investigation according to Section 326 of the Penal Code for causing grievous hurt," he said when contacted by BuletinTV3.

In the incident at 5.30am yesterday, the victim was found seriously injured after his neck was slashed with a sharp object.

Shahrulanuar said the investigation was carried out as soon as police received a report from the victim's 40-year-old mother on the morning of the incident.

According to him, the woman woke up from her sleep and found that the victim, who was also her son, had suffered a serious neck injury and was taken to HSNI for further treatment.

"We are currently investigating this incident from various angles. It is still too early for the police to identify the motive for the incident," he said. - October 28, 2025
