THE parents of a two-year-old boy were horrified when they realised their son was not in the car as they drove home to Johor Bahru after stopping at a restaurant.

In a Facebook post by the Raud district police, the incident occurred yesterday when the boy was found alone in front of Azmi Stim Restaurant, Raub, Pahang.

"The child was found by a man who noticed the child wandering around in the parking lot at the restaurant.

"He waited for about 45 minutes but nobody came for the boy. He then took the child was taken to the Raub Police Station."

The police managed to contact the child's family who arrived at the Raub Police Station at 4pm to pick up the child.

The Raub Police Station Chief interviewed the parents of the child who had boarded two vehicles from Johor Bharu on Nov 30 to Tersan, Dong.

"On Dec 1 about noon on their way home, they stopped to eat at Azmi Stim Restaurant Raub. After eating, the family continued their journey back to Johor Bharu.

"Upon arriving in Kuala Lumpur, the mother of the child contacted her sister who was in another vehicle and asked about the whereabouts of her child because she thought their child was with her sister."

Police said there was a misunderstanding while getting into the car before moving and only then did the child's parents realise that their child was left behind at the restaurant.

The parents contacted Azmi Stim Restaurant and were informed that their child had been handed over to the Raub Police Station.

The police advised the public to be always be vigilant and be more sensitive to their children's whereabouts. - December 2, 2025
