MALAYSIA’S security situation remains stable despite ongoing global geopolitical tensions, according to the country’s top police official, who has urged the public to remain vigilant and united in the face of external uncertainties.
Inspector-General of Police Datuk Seri Mohd Khalid Ismail said the country continues to enjoy a peaceful environment, although caution is still necessary in daily life.
“So far, praise be to God, our country remains in a peaceful state and security is assured.
“However, I urge the public to remain cautious and to share positive matters for the common good,” he said.
He was speaking during a corporate visit by the Royal Malaysia Police’s top leadership to Media Prima Berhad at Balai Berita in Bangsar, Kuala Lumpur today
While reaffirming that public safety remains under control, Mohd Khalid also highlighted the broader economic implications of geopolitical tensions, particularly developments in West Asia, which continue to exert pressure on global markets.
He cautioned that these external factors are already being felt across multiple sectors domestically, prompting a call for greater financial prudence among Malaysians.
At the same time, he stressed that national unity will be critical in maintaining both security and economic resilience during this period of uncertainty.
“It is our responsibility as Malaysians to remain united in ensuring that the nation’s security and economy are always safeguarded,” he said.
He further urged the public to act responsibly in preserving peace and sustaining the country’s social harmony, underscoring that collective effort remains central to Malaysia’s continued stability. - April 3, 2026
