PAKATAN Harapan (PH) will continue to cooperate with the leadership of the Negeri Sembilan government under the leadership of Menteri Besar, Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun, for the sake of economic stability and the welfare of the people in the state.

Its Communications Director, Datuk Fahmi Fadzil, said PH will also continue to defend the role and function of the institution of the Malay Rulers.

According to him, PH also expressed regret over the actions taken by the 14 Negeri Sembilan Umno-Barisan Nasional (BN) State Assemblymen (ADUN) because they clearly did not live up to the spirit of the Unity Government.

“Pakatan Harapan strongly rejects the move by Umno Barisan Nasional Negeri Sembilan to try to ‘break through the roof’ and take over the administration of the Negeri Sembilan government, not to mention the reason that the actions of the 14 assemblymen in question are not at all related to the performance of the Menteri Besar.

“The actions of Umno Barisan Nasional Negeri Sembilan were carried out without caring about the welfare of the people, and were carried out at a time when the Unity Government and the country were facing a global supply crisis, and were trying to manage the economy and reduce the burden faced by the people,” he said in a statement.

Negeri Sembilan BN chairman, Datuk Seri Jalaluddin Alias, on Monday announced that 14 Umno-BN assemblymen had unanimously lost confidence and withdrawn support for the state government led by Aminuddin.

The decision was made following the crisis involving customary institutions and the state constitution.
