KOTA KINABALU – Barisan Nasional (BN) leaders in Sabah were never consulted on political cooperation with Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) for the upcoming general election, said a Parti Bersatu Rakyat Sabah (PBRS) leader today.
PBRS Youth chief Edwin Laimin said the Sabah BN liaison body has never been notified of any decision to cooperate with the GRS coalition.
“According to the BN constitution, any decisions made for BN must be decided unanimously by the BN top working committee.
“Unfortunately, matters related to cooperation with GRS for the general election were never discussed in the Sabah BN meetings,” he said here today.

Sabah BN chairman Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin had earlier confirmed that talks were underway with GRS for collaboration in the upcoming general election.
Umno president Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi also recently said GRS had agreed to support all BN candidates in the polls.
However, talks by the coalition’s federal leadership appear to have irked Sabah-based BN parties.
Laimin said PBRS, which is a component of Sabah BN, insisted such talks should be brought to the state liaison body first before any announcements.
“We are not against any cooperation with GRS, but at least the matter should be decided together in the spirit of friendship and loyalty in BN all these years,” he said. – The Vibes, October 6, 2022
