KUALA LUMPUR – Film director Ahmad Idham Ahmad Nadzri is among notable candidates fielded by Gerakan Tanah Air (GTA) for the 15th general election (GE15).

He will contest the Port Dickson seat.

Announcing GTA’s candidates today, its chairman Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad said the coalition will contest in 121 parliamentary seats.

Prominent lawyer, Muhammad Rafique Rashid, was also chosen as a candidate and will contest the Shah Alam seat.

Another prominent lawyer, Nizam Bashir Abdul Kariem Bashir, will contest in the Batu Pahat seat.

Other notable candidates included Parti Bumiputera Perkasa Malaysia (Putra) president Datuk Ibrahim Ali, who will stand in Rantau Panjang, in Kelantan, where GTA candidates will use the Putra logo.

Elsewhere, GTA candidates will use the Pejuang logo.

Another notable candidate is Ikatan Silaturahim Bro­therhood (Brotherhood) founder Azlan Sani Za­­wawi, better known as Lando. He will be fielded in Tg Karang.

Staunch Dr Mahathir supporter Datuk Seri Khairuddin Abu Hassan will also be fielded in the Titiwangsa seat, going up against Umno’s Datuk Seri Johari Abdul Ghani and PAS’ Rosni Adam. 

Dr Mahathir is set to defend his Langkawi seat while his son, Pejuang president Datuk Seri Mukhriz Mahathir, will be fielded in Jerlun. 

Pejuang deputy president Datuk Seri Marzuki Yahya will contest in Sungai Petani. 

Another notable candidate is Gerakan Pembela Ummah chairman and Ikatan Muslim Malaysia president Aminuddin Yahaya, who will contest in Temerloh. – The Vibes, November 2, 2022
