SANDAKAN – Gabungan Rakyat Sabah’s (GRS) Batu Sapi candidate Khairul Firdaus Akbar Khan said his father has nothing against Warisan president Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal, despite the fracas earlier today

He said his father, Datuk Akbar Khan Abdulrahman, has been friends with Shafie for a long time, and they are like family.

“There was no intention to be hostile because (they) have known each other for a long time,” Khairul Firdaus said in a statement today.

He was responding to the incident where Akbar crashed a Warisan campaign event today in Kg Sundang Laut, Batu Sapi, and chanted “Hidup GRS” on stage before some 700 people.

Khairul said although videos of the incident had gone viral on social media, it was only to play on voter sentiment.

“There was no chaos. It is being blown up and made into an issue. I hope we can conduct our campaigns peacefully.

“We should not create unreasonable matters that could affect our harmony and political maturity,” he said. – The Vibes, November 8, 2022
