KOTA KINABALU – Warisan today released its Borneo Bloc video as the Sabah-based party aims to win as many parliamentary seats as possible in the state to use as a bargaining chip for the implementation of state rights.
The video, which is just over four minutes, features Warisan president Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal compelling voters in Sabah and Sarawak to throw their support behind his party in Sabah and Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS).
He said only local parties are free from the influence of the peninsula-based parties, and that the rights of Sabah and Sarawak, which have been long-ignored in national politics, can now be heard.
“Sarawak has already done it – a major portion of the 31 seats are owned by the local coalition – unfortunately in Sabah, it is still divided.
“Most of the seats at the Sabah level are still owned by parties from the peninsula, which likely makes it difficult for Sabah’s voice to be heard.”
Shafie said he wanted the peninsula-based parties to need the support of Sabah and Sarawak parties in their effort to capture Putrajaya.
“There is no Putrajaya without Borneo, as without Borneo, there is only Malaya, not Malaysia.”
Also, Warisan has been sending a message of racial unity as it tries to make headway into the peninsula. – The Vibes, November 16, 2022
