KUALA LUMPUR – Perlis Mufti Datuk Mohd Asri Zainul Abidin said the party which has a Muslim majority should also join the new government.
This, he said, was especially so if the party concerned was worried there were those in the government who could create issues against the national identity and damage the integrity of the administration.
“With strong support, the new government need not worry about anyone threatening to leave the government if their demands were not met.
“For the sake of national unity, it is best for everyone to give the new prime minister room to carry out his duties. As long as there are no wrongdoings or any harm (mafsadah) to the people, there is no reason for anyone to object or disturb the administration,” he said.
Asri also congratulated Anwar on his appointment as the 10th premier of the country.
“Any doubts by certain quarters against him can be eliminated by proof of his actions,” he added. – The Vibes, November 25, 2022
