Batang Kali landslide: women’s ministry to ensure adequate aid for victims

PUTRAJAYA – The Women, Family and Community Development Ministry will ensure a sufficient supply of necessities for the victims of the landslide at a campsite near the Father’s Organic Farm, Gohtong Jaya, Batang Kali, that occurred early today.

Its minister Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri in a statement today said she had instructed her deputy minister Aiman Athirah Sabu to handle the matter.

“I was deeply saddened after learning about the disaster that happened in Batang Kali this morning.

“The ministry is ready to provide necessary assistance to the victims. May all the victims’ families remain strong in facing this test,” she said.

As of 1pm today, 16 victims were confirmed dead, while 17 are still missing and 60 others have been rescued in the landslide. – Bernama, December 16, 2022
