KUALA LUMPUR – The Federal Land Development Authority (Felda) will disburse RM9.7 million in monsoon season aid to 12,138 eligible rubber tappers in its land schemes nationwide.
The statutory body’s strategic communications department said in a statement today that RM800 will be distributed in three phases to each rubber tapper, with the first phase involving RM200 to be paid out this month.
RM300 will be disbursed in the second phase next month while another RM200 will be handed out in the third phase in March.
“The payments will be deposited directly into the bank accounts of eligible settlers,” the statement said.
Eligible recipients of the financial aid comprise those who deliver their produce to Felda’s rubber collection centre, those with no produce due to labour issues or diseased trees, and those who are currently involved in Felda’s replanting programme. – Bernama, January 7, 2023
