KUALA NERUS – Umno president Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi has confirmed that all its candidates will use the “dacing” (scale) symbol for the elections in six states.

The deputy prime minister said other parties in the unity government will be using their respective symbols for their candidates.

“Nonetheless, we will be mobilised as one machinery among parties in the unity government,” he told reporters after attending the Majlis Santunan Kasih Ramadan organised by the Rural and Regional Development Ministry at Masjid Al-Ansar in Sri Pantai Camp here today.

Asked on the allocation of seats, Zahid, who is also Barisan Nasional chairman, said Umno and other parties in the unity government have yet to formally discuss the matter.

In this regard, Zahid, who is also rural and regional development minister, announced Terengganu Umno chairman, Datuk Seri Ahmad Said has been reappointed as Central Terengganu Development Authority (Ketegah) chairman.

He said it is hoped that Ahmad’s appointment, effective immediately, would drive development in three districts under Ketengah, namely Hulu Terengganu, Dungun and Kemaman. – Bernama, March 28, 2023
