KUALA TERENGGANU – Dungun Hospital, which is in the final stage of construction, will become the third specialist hospital in Terengganu after Sultanah Nur Zahirah Hospital (HSNZ) here, and Kemaman Hospital.

Public Service Department director-general Datuk Dr Zulkapli Mohamed said the provision of specialist hospital services is one of the Madani government’s contributions to enable the underprivileged to get specialised and best treatment in line with the vision of enhancing the well-being of the people.

He said the opening of the hospital will also widen career prospects at all job levels including professional, clinical, nursing and management.

“This is a positive development for the people of Terengganu because they will enjoy better and quality services.

“Job opportunities for other sectors such as cleaning services and business can also be created through the opening of this hospital,” he said in a statement today.

Earlier, Zulkapli conducted a visit to the hospital to inspect the construction work, especially the operating theatre.

The visit this morning was also to ensure that other facilities are prepared according to specifications to guarantee the welfare of civil servants as well as the safety of patients who will receive treatment at the hospital.

Dungun Hospital, which can accommodate 110 beds, began construction in 2016 and was initially scheduled to be completed in 2019.

A total of 10 specialist services will be provided including paediatrics. obstetrics and gynaecology, psychiatry, pathology, anaesthesiology, and dentistry. – Bernama, August 22, 2023
